The potato is dead. The potato remains dead. And we have killed it.
How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become potatoes simply to appear worthy of it? There has never been a greater deed.
I’m guessing not, but I could be wrong. The gemmacorrell website is funny. I loved the following:
What other people are saying about my work …
“wtf. worst cartoons ever!” – Luc Walker of Australia
“I don’t understand this new illustration trend that’s… just bad pen drawings … at least put effort into things not pen doodles” – Gabe, from Twitter (and also, Australia)
“… ugly, pig-faced drawings … ” – Angry Canadian lady
“How is this funny? Like at all?” – Mariah (location unknown, but I’m guessing probably Australia)
When I read comments like that, Wilbur, I simply feel like I need to be drawn into this particular cartoon up there that Tim posted.
On a different note, I read about Nietzsche after your comments, and I saw that he died at age 44 of dementia. Isn’t that sad? They called it neurosyphilis but question now if it wasn’t a fronto-temporal dementia. Interesting.
Terri, not me, and even if I made such a cartoon I would not put this kind of questions into a potato mouth because I know they are conscious and know all the answers 🙂
Haha, glad you guys enjoyed this post, I’d forgotten I’d scheduled it. The most complex thing on my mind this week is when to go fishing and whether to have beef, chicken, or fish tacos.

… nihilistic Australians. We’ll never make it if they don’t work on their sense of humour.

Wow, I must be really dense (not calorically, of course), but I don’t get it.

I beg to disagree Aussies have a great sense of humour.
It is typical Aussie to think up a comedy series about the Sydney games of 2000 !!

It turned out that 100 meters track was a meter short !!
